Don't compare cooler ice ratings across brands

You can’t directly compare ice retention ratings between cooler brands because there’s no industry standard test.

Each manufacturer runs its own test with different conditions — different amounts of ice, different ambient temperatures, different cooler sizes, and even different definitions of “done.” One brand might measure until the ice fully melts; another until the water hits 40°F. So a “10-day” YETI and a “7-day” ROTOMOLD are not speaking the same language.
