Don't count on a refund for rain.

Probably not. Unless the venue cancels for safety (lightning, flooding), most outdoor activities are go even in a downpour. Golf courses, outdoor concerts, sports leagues — they all operate on “rain or shine” unless they explicitly promise otherwise in the fine print.

Some businesses offer rain checks if the event is completely washed out (like a full-day tournament), but for a single tee time or a two-hour soccer game? You’re likely out of luck. They booked the slot, and you showed up. The weather is not their problem.

Check the cancellation policy before you book. If it says “no refunds for weather,” believe it. If you’re worried, pick a place with flexible rebooking or buy trip insurance for big-ticket stuff.

Don’t gamble on Mother Nature cooperating with your schedule.
