Don't park at the Niagara Falls State Park lots.
Yes, it’s that bad. Expensive and chaotic, especially on weekends and holidays. The main lots (like the one on Goat Island) fill up fast, and you’ll be circling like a vulture while paying $20-30 for the privilege.
Your best bet is to skip the state park lots entirely. Park at one of the private lots a few blocks away—the Rainbow Centre parking garage or the lots near Prospect Street are usually cheaper ($10-15) and less of a circus. Then walk five minutes to the park entrance. Or better: park in the city of Niagara Falls (free on-street parking if you find a spot, but read signs carefully) and walk or take the trolley.
If you’re staying overnight, confirm your hotel offers free parking and then just walk or use the easy-to-navigate trolley system. You don’t need to drive into the park at all.
Save the frustration and a few bucks. The falls are the same view whether you paid $30 or $0 for parking.
