Double cleanse with oil first.

That’s the trick. Water-resistant sunscreen is designed to repel water, so soap and water alone won’t cut it. An oil-based cleanser (or plain baby oil, coconut oil, whatever) dissolves the sunscreen, then you follow with your regular face wash.

Don’t scrub your face raw trying to get it off with just cleanser. You’ll irritate your skin and still leave residue that can clog pores. Oil first, then foam or gel cleanser. Takes 30 extra seconds.

If you’re lazy, micellar water on a cotton pad works okay, but you need to swipe until the pad comes clean. Oil cleansing is more efficient and less wasteful.

Your skin will thank you. Also your pillowcase.
