Dry highlighters are a storage problem, not an age problem.
Highlighters don’t dry out from getting old — they dry out from how you store them. Keep them flat and capped, and most will outlive their useful life.
The big mistake is standing them on the desk. Tip-up drains ink back into the reservoir, leaving the felt dry. Tip-down floods the tip, which makes it bleed and eventually ruins the nib. Flat, horizontal, capped, in a drawer or a cup designed for them. That’s it.
