Dry your produce and ventilate the cooler.
Moisture is the enemy. Condensation happens when warm, humid air from your fruits and veggies hits the cold walls of the cooler. So start by drying everything thoroughly before it goes in—even a little dampness will cause fogging.
Next, don’t seal the cooler completely. Leave the lid cracked or use a cooler with a built-in vent. If you can’t do that, line the bottom with several layers of paper towels or a clean cloth. They soak up the drips and act as a humidity buffer. Change them every day or two.
Also avoid overpacking. Air needs room to move. If you cram everything in, moisture has nowhere to go. And if you’re using ice packs, wrap them in a cloth so the cold surface doesn’t directly touch the produce.
A little airflow and a dry start will keep condensation from ruining your greens.
