Dual-roller wins for pet hair.
If you’ve got a shedding dog or cat, get the dual-roller design. Single-roller brushes are fine for general dust and debris, but they tangle and clog fast when faced with actual animal hair.
The difference is simple: dual-roller has a separate brush roll that agitates the carpet and a second roller that picks up the hair. Single-roller tries to do both jobs at once and usually fails at the hair part. You’ll spend more time cutting hair off the brush than actually vacuuming.
That said, if your pet is a low-shedder (short hair, single coat) or you only vacuum once a week and don’t mind occasional maintenance, a good single-roller vacuum can work. But for daily shedding machines like labs, pugs, or cats that shed like it’s a side hustle, dual-roller is the way to go.
Save yourself the frustration. Your carpets will thank you.
