Earls Court 1994 on 'The Later Years' — Complete Show or Pulse Edit?
The Earls Court concert included on the The Later Years Blu-ray is not the same as the commercially released Pulse video. Pulse was a composite edited from multiple nights (mainly 17–20 October 1994) with some songs swapped and sections trimmed. The Later Years disc presents the complete 20 October 1994 performance in full, running nearly three hours without any of the cuts or alternates that went into the Pulse release.
Crucially, this means “Comfortably Numb” appears here in its unedited glory. The Pulse video famously trimmed the second guitar solo down to about 2 minutes and 40 seconds — losing the extended middle section and the final high wail. The Later Years version restores the entire solo as it was played that night, clocking in at around 6 minutes. Guitar nerds and fans who’ve only ever seen the edited Pulse will hear the solo breathe properly for the first time in a commercial home-video release.
