ECC RAM won't noticeably change your electricity bill.
The power difference is real but tiny — we’re talking a watt or two at most. A typical stick of ECC DDR4 draws maybe 5-7 watts, while non-ECC might draw 4-6 watts. Your electricity bill won’t even register the difference.
The real power draw in a server or workstation is the CPU, GPU, drives, and fans. RAM is a blip. If you’re building an ECC system for stability (or because you need it for certain CPUs), don’t sweat the power cost.
It’s like worrying about the drag from one extra sticker on your car. Technically it exists. Practically meaningless.
