Empty it completely first.

The best way to organize a small medicine cabinet is to take everything out, throw away the junk, and only put back what you actually use weekly.

Most medicine cabinets are packed with expired meds, ancient razors, and half-used samples you’ll never touch. That’s the problem. You can’t see your daily stuff because it’s buried under clutter you forgot existed.

So: dump it all on the counter. Check expiration dates. Toss anything you haven’t used in six months. Be ruthless – if you haven’t needed that travel-size aspirin by now, you won’t.

Then group by frequency. Daily essentials (toothpaste, meds you take every morning) go at eye level on the front shelf. Weekly items (backup razor, extra floss) go behind or up top. Use small clear containers or risers so nothing stacks and hides behind something else. Magnetic strips inside the door work great for tweezers or nail clippers.

Don’t try to fit everything. If it doesn’t fit after sorting, either your cabinet is too small or you own too much. Pick one.

Future you will appreciate not digging through a pile of bullshit at 7 AM.
