Both sides have boat tours — but Hornblower gives you a more direct line to Horseshoe Falls

Maid of the Mist (American side) and Hornblower Niagara Cruises (Canadian side) both do the same thing: take you to the base of the falls and soak you completely. Hornblower gets you a more direct view of Horseshoe Falls, but honestly, the experience is similar either way. Pick whichever side you’re already standing on.
