Fat bombs melt. Pack around that.

Packing a keto lunch is mostly about keeping the fat cold and the mess contained, not magic.

Start with an insulated bag and a real ice pack. That handles the heavy lifting. Hard cheeses, cold cuts, boiled eggs, jerky, nuts, olives, and pickles are all fine — they don’t make a mess and they don’t care about a little temperature change. These can go straight in a bento box or a compartmented container.

The problem foods are the melty ones: fat bombs, chocolate, soft cheeses, creamy dips, and cut avocado. Avocado is the worst offender — keep the pit in, hit it with lime juice, and wrap it tight, but honestly it’s best to just eat it at home. Fat bombs or anything cocoa-based turn into sludge in a warm bag. The move is to pack those in a small insulated thermos or a tiny jar that sits inside the cooler section. Same trick works for ranch dressing or a butter/ghee portion.

If you’re doing a salad, layer it in a mason jar: dressing on the bottom, then heavy stuff like cheese and olives, then greens on top. It’s not about the ingredients being special — it’s about separating the wet from the dry and letting the ice pack do its job.

Cold and separate is the whole game.
