Flatten a rolled mousepad
Heat flattens it fastest.
Yes, you can fix a rippled mousepad — use low heat and some weight.
The issue is that the rubber base got a memory from being rolled too tight. Heat relaxes the rubber, and weight flattens it. Grab a hairdryer or an iron on the lowest setting (no steam). Warm the rippled areas gently, then lay the mousepad flat under a stack of heavy books for a few hours.
Don’t get too aggressive with the heat — you can melt the rubber or warp the surface. If you don’t have a hairdryer, you can skip heat and just use heavy books for a day or two, but it won’t work as well or as fast.
Don’t throw it away yet.
