Folding support leg is the answer
If you want a wall-mounted fold-down desk that won’t wobble under a heavy laptop and monitor, you need one with a folding support leg that extends to the floor.
Most of those sleek floating desks rely entirely on hinges screwed into drywall or studs. That works for a tablet and a coffee mug. Put a 15-pound laptop plus a 10-pound monitor on there and every keystroke becomes a shimmy. The fix is simple: a leg that takes the weight off the wall.
I’ve seen the Loring and Bestar models with steel frames and folding legs hold up fine. The leg doesn’t have to be pretty — it just needs to be adjustable so you can level it. Without a leg, the best you can do is heavy-duty hinges bolted into studs with lag screws, but even that will have some flex over time.
