For textbooks, get the clear flags, not regular sticky notes

The best thing for marking pages in a dense textbook is a pack of Post-it Page Markers (the clear, repositionable flags), not a stack of regular sticky notes.

Here’s why. Dense textbooks mean you’re marking a lot of pages, often close together. Regular sticky notes are too wide — they overlap, fall off when the book closes, and they cover the actual text you’re trying to reference. Page markers are narrow, stick flush to the edge, and you can see the printed line right through them. That’s the whole point.

If you specifically want to write on the note itself, go with Post-it Super Sticky Notes instead of the standard ones. The standard Post-its don’t hold up well once a book gets shoved in a bag.
