Forget matching your towel to your swimsuit.

Pick a good eco-friendly towel and call it a day. The sustainable swimsuit thing is a separate decision.

There are two solid options: organic cotton Turkish towels (light, dry fast, sand shakes off) or recycled polyester microfiber towels (even lighter, pack smaller, dry faster). Turkish towels look better and feel nicer. Microfiber is more practical for actually drying off and not carrying a wet brick home.

Do not buy a “bamboo” towel unless you verify it’s mechanically processed bamboo (lyocell). Most bamboo viscose is chemical-intensive and not actually eco-friendly.

“Best” depends on your beach style: if you want a blanket to lounge on, get a big Turkish cotton one. If you’re swimming and drying off repeatedly, get a microfiber. Either pairs fine with any swimsuit.

No one at the beach is going to compliment your towel-swimsuit coordination anyway.
