Full clear lids beat windows every time

The best lunch boxes with a clear view are the ones that just make the whole lid clear — like the Bentgo Kids or the Sistema Bento Box — instead of adding a little plastic window.

Small windows are mostly a gimmick. They fog up, they show you one tiny compartment, and you end up opening the box anyway to figure out what you’re looking at. A full clear lid solves the actual problem: seeing everything at a glance. It also helps kids — they can see their food and stop asking “what’s this?” at lunch.

The Bentgo Kids is the one I’d buy for a school lunch. The whole lid is clear, the compartments are the right size, and it’s leak-proof. For adults, the Sistema Bento Box does the same job for less money. It’s stackable, easy to clean, and the clear lid is just as functional. Both are plastic, so don’t expect them to stay scratch-free forever — clear plastic scuffs up over time.

Your kid will still open it to check, but at least you won’t have to.
