Get a blanket ladder.

A blanket ladder is the best way to store extra throws in a small living room without taking up floor space. No ottoman, no trunk, no problem.

I know baskets are the default answer, but they eat up floor area and you have to dig through them. A ladder leans against the wall, uses vertical space, and actually looks good. Drape throws over the rungs, and they become part of the decor. Easy to grab, easy to put back.

If you don’t love the ladder look, wall-mounted hooks or a row of hooks behind the couch work too. But hooks can get cluttered fast. A ladder keeps things spread out and airy. You can find them cheap at Target or IKEA, or even make one with two pieces of wood and some dowels. No tools required for the store-bought kind.

Avoid piling blankets on the back of the couch. That just looks messy and they slide off. Also don’t shove them under the couch—dust monster central.
