Get a flat bento box, not a lunch bag

Flat bento-style containers are the only lunch boxes that reliably fit in a standard office fridge drawer — most bags and tall Tupperware won’t clear the height.

That bottom drawer in a shared fridge is almost always the same: about 15–20 inches wide but only 4–6 inches tall. A lunch bag with a handle physically can’t fit flat, and anything round or tall gets shoved in sideways. You want a low, rectangular container that sits flat on the drawer bottom.

The go-to pick is the Bentgo. The Classic and Kids versions are roughly 8.5 x 6 inches and just 2 inches tall, which slides into nearly every fridge drawer without a fight. One tip: measure the drawer before you buy. If it’s a narrow mini-fridge drawer, skip anything wider than 9 inches. And unless your office drawer is unusually deep, don’t buy a “tall” bento with stacked compartments — two flat containers stack better than one clunky tower.
