Get a lunch box that gives your fork a home

Yeah, these exist. Look for bento-style lunch boxes with a dedicated cutlery slot and a separate napkin pocket. The whole point is that nothing goes loose in your bag.

Bentgo’s Classic is the obvious one—the fork and spoon snap into a molded slot in the lid, so they’re always there when you open it. A few other bento brands like Sistema also do the same, and some include a small napkin pocket in the box itself. If you want more room, there are lunch bags with a built-in utensil roll attached to the inner lid. That works too.

The trick is to avoid any box that just says “utensils included.” You want the ones where the utensils live in the box, not loose in a side pouch. That’s what keeps you from losing them.
