Get a lunch box with a real dressing container, not a built-in well
The best lunch box for daily salads is one with a separate, sealed dressing container that sits inside a deep main compartment—like the Bentgo Salad or any decent wide bento with a snap-on sauce cup.
Built-in dressing wells are a trap. They leak at the hinge, they’re shallow, and anything liquid finds its way under your greens. You want a small cup that closes tight and either clips into the lid or sits in a cutout. That way your dressing stays put until you’re ready to pour it.
The other thing to watch is crush space. Don’t go for a flat, shallow container. You need at least 4 cups and some headroom—look for a lid that doesn’t press down on the leaves. The Bentgo Salad is my pick because it gets all of this right: big main compartment, separate cup, and an ice pack in the lid to keep everything cold. But honestly, any similar wide bento with a real dressing cup will do. Just avoid the cheap plastic ones with flimsy lids.
Your salad deserves better than a soggy mess.
