Get a magnetic-flap lunch bag, not a latched one
For arthritis or weak hands, the easiest lunch box is a magnetic-flap bag like the Built Lunch Box — no zippers, no latches, no twist locks.
Zippers need pinch grip, side latches need you to press and align, and twist locks need rotation strength. All of those hurt. A magnetic flap just lifts open and falls shut on its own. That’s the whole motion. The Built one is neoprene, so it’s soft, insulated, and wide-mouthed enough to see inside. It also has a handle long enough to slide over a walker or wheelchair arm.
Inside, don’t fight with snap-lid containers either. Use a wide bowl with a loose lid or a stretchy silicone lid. Or just pack things in zipper bags. The point is to remove every single pinch-and-pull motion from your lunch routine.
Your lunch should not be the hardest thing you do today.
