Get a salad container with a built-in dressing well.
The best lunch box for salad is one with a dedicated dressing cup that snaps into the lid or the main container, not a generic bento box with loose compartments.
The generic multi-compartment boxes look smart, but they don’t solve wilt. Greens go soggy from trapped moisture and bruising, not just from dressing. So buy a container designed for salad: it keeps the wet stuff sealed away and lets the leaves sit in dry, airy space until you actually add the dressing.
If you want names, the Fit & Fresh Go Green container has a little dressing cup in the lid and is cheap and fine. The Rubbermaid LunchBlox Salad Kit is better if you want a cold pack, because it comes with a gel ice pack that snaps into the stack. If you prefer glass, Pyrex Simply Store has a salad version with a small dressing container that stays separate. Any of those beats screwing around with a jelly jar of vinaigrette.
The key is that the dressing compartment actually seals. Some cheap “salad bento” boxes just have a shallow well with no lid — that defeats the whole thing. Check that the dressing cup has a screw-top or a snap-on lid, and you’re good.
Future you deserves better than a sad wet salad at 1 p.m.
