Get the gasket-sealed bins
For under-bed storage that keeps dust out, hard plastic bins with gasket lids are your best bet.
Fabric bins and vacuum bags are popular, but they have trade-offs. Fabric lets dust through eventually, especially if you have carpet or pets. Vacuum bags are great for clothes and bedding, but not for random stuff you might need to grab. Hard plastic with a rubber gasket seals tight — you can slide it under the bed and forget about it for a year without finding a gray fur coating when you pull it out.
You want low-profile bins, about 6 to 9 inches tall, to fit under most bed frames. Clear ones let you see what’s inside without pulling everything out, but if you hate looking at clutter, opaque with a label works too. Brands like Sterilite or Iris make decent ones — just check that the lid actually clicks or latches. Budget ones without gaskets are false economy.
If your only goal is dust prevention, don’t overthink it. Hard plastic with a seal. That’s it.
