Get the glass lunch containers.
For adults who meal prep, glass containers with locking lids are the best lunch boxes — full stop. Not the fancy bento trays, not the insulated bags with built-in ice packs. Just glass.
Plastic’s real problem isn’t BPA panic. It’s that it absorbs everything. Run a few weeks of chili, curry, or anything with tomato sauce through cheap plastic and your containers permanently smell like last month’s leftovers. Glass doesn’t stain, doesn’t hold smells, reheats in the microwave without a second thought, and goes straight in the dishwasher.
The two genuine downsides are weight and the lids. Glass is heavy, but if you’re not hiking to work, that’s a fair trade for not eating plastic-flavored food. As for lids, they’re always the first thing to die on these containers — so buy a brand that sells replacements separately. Pyrex Snapware and Glasslock both do. Get the version with four locking tabs, not the flimsy press-on lids. Better seal, longer life.
Grab one insulated tote to carry the containers and you’re done. That’s the whole system.
Your office fridge will thank you.
