Get the hard case, not the sleeve

For a TI-84, the hard zippered case is the right choice — just make sure it’s actually made for the calculator, not a generic tablet sleeve. A soft sleeve protects against scratches, but it won’t do much when the calculator gets crushed under a textbook.

The TI-84 Plus is about 7.5 inches long and 3.4 inches wide, and most zippered cases labeled “TI-84” fit it fine. If you want to double-check, look at the product dimensions before buying. The official Texas Instruments hard case is solid, but any third-party hard shell with a zipper works just as well.
