Yes, but only if the utensils snap into a molded slot or clip — not when they’re just tucked under a band.

There are two kinds of “built-in” utensils. The cheap version is a fork stored under an elastic strap or in a stretchy side pocket. It rattles, shifts around, and will eventually work its way loose in a bag.

The reliable kind uses a dedicated channel or clip in the lid. The utensil slides in and clicks into place. That’s what you want. Bento-style boxes are where this is common: kids’ boxes like OmieBox and Bentgo have utensil compartments built into the lid, and Monbento does something similar for adults.

So don’t buy “stowable” — buy “snap-in.” The difference is whether you get mechanical retention or just hope.
