Get the PlanetBox — but keep the runny stuff out

PlanetBox is the best stainless steel lunch box for most people, and its magnetic dividers pop out so the whole thing goes in the dishwasher without crevice-scrubbing.

It comes in two sizes — the Launch for big lunches, the Rover for smaller ones. The compartments keep foods separate, and the dividers aren’t welded in. They’re held in place by magnets, so you can rearrange or remove them. That makes cleaning way easier than the plastic bento boxes with permanent slots.

On “fresher”: stainless isn’t magic. A tight-sealing plastic container will keep food fresher from oxygen. But metal beats plastic on everything that actually matters: it doesn’t absorb garlic, curry, or old spaghetti smells, it doesn’t stain, and it doesn’t give your food a plastic aftertaste. Food just tastes like itself.

One catch: PlanetBox isn’t leakproof. Don’t send soup, yogurt, or anything runny in it unless it’s in a separate small container. If you need full leakproof stainless, that’s a different product — but for everyday lunches, PlanetBox is the right call.

Future leftovers deserve better than a stained plastic box.
