Give the crackers their own compartment
Give crackers their own compartment and the rest of the board takes care of itself.
The key is keeping moisture away from anything crisp. Soft cheeses, grapes, pickles, and cured meats all release moisture or oil, and crackers are sponges for both. So don’t let them share a pocket. If your bento has a shallow tray or divider, that’s your cracker spot. If not, use a silicone muffin liner, a small foil cup, or even a separate snack-size container tucked beside the rest.
For the cheeses, wrap pungent ones (blue cheese, washed rinds, anything stinky) individually in parchment or put them in tiny jars. That stops them from perfuming the mild cheese and the grapes. Hard cheeses are fine unwrapped as long as they’re not pressed against wet stuff. Wet items like berries or pickles get a paper towel or a small container of their own, too.
And for maximum crunch, pack crackers in a separate little box with the air pressed out. Or wrap them in a paper towel inside a container — the towel soaks up excess moisture and also keeps them from rattling around.
Future you will eat crackers that still go crunch.
