The best way to track habits on vacation is to define a “vacation standard” for each habit before you leave, so you can log honestly without guilt.

Don’t pretend you’re going to do your full routine. That’s a setup for failure and then you lie to your tracker or beat yourself up. Instead, decide ahead of time: what’s the minimum viable version of this habit that still feels true to the commitment?

For exercise, maybe that’s 10 minutes of stretching or a walk. For writing, one sentence. For meditation, three deep breaths. The key is you pre-negotiate this with yourself so logging it isn’t cheating — it’s the plan. Your streak stays alive because you honored the adjusted rule, not the normal one.
