Gluten-free needs its own container, not just compartments
Get a dedicated container for your gluten-free lunch. Separate compartments in a shared lunch box sound fine, but they don’t really stop crumb drift.
The problem is that most bento-style boxes share the same lid and the same airspace. When you toss the bag around, those divider walls don’t seal. Crumbs slip over the top or under the base, and now your “safe” side has touched a trace of someone else’s sandwich. Even if the dividers are tall, they don’t stay clean between uses.
A dedicated container is one you use only for your food. No shared surfaces, no borrowed lids, no mystery crumbs. If you still want everything in one lunch bag, pack your GF food in separate sealed containers—not one multi-compartment box. That way, physical separation is real.
If you’re sensitive or have celiac, don’t gamble on dividers. A separate box costs less than a bad reaction. Future You deserves better than a crumb in the rice.
