Go as big as your desk allows.
Get the biggest mousepad that fits your workspace without bumping your keyboard or monitor. At 400 DPI and low sensitivity, you need every inch you can spare — that means 900x400mm or even 1200x600mm if your desk is large enough.
Low sensitivity players (like Valorant or CS players) often swipe 30-50cm for a 180° turn. A standard “large” pad (450x400mm) is the bare minimum. But if you already use a large mat, you know the feeling of hitting the edge mid-flick. Going wider (900mm+) gives you room to breathe, and extra depth (500mm+) helps when you push your mouse forward.
The tradeoff is desk space. Your keyboard needs to sit on the pad too, or the pad needs to fit its footprint. Measure your desk, subtract your keyboard and monitor base, and buy the biggest rectangle you can fit. Brands like Artisan, LGG, and Zowie sell XL sizes that work.
If you’re happy with your current mat, don’t fix what isn’t broken. But if you’re still hitting the edge, bigger is always better at this sensitivity.
