Go with a control pad for MOBAs.

Yes, control pad.

MOBAs are all about pixel-perfect clicks — last-hitting a creep, stutter-stepping, landing skillshots on a moving target. Speed pads (hard plastic or glass) let your mouse slide like it’s on ice. That feels fast, but you lose the ability to stop precisely. In a MOBA, overshooting a click by a millimeter can lose you a kill or get you killed.

Control pads (usually cloth) give you friction. That friction means you can make tiny micro-adjustments without your mouse skidding past the target. You also get better glide consistency over time — hard pads wear unevenly and get slower in the middle, while cloth pads wear more predictably.

If you play mostly shooters, a speed pad makes sense for flick shots. For MOBAs, control wins. You don’t need to whip your mouse across the mousepad; you need to stop exactly where the enemy is standing.
