Go with a flat lunch box, not a tall one
If you’re fighting for space in the office fridge, the fix is simple: choose a lunch box that’s wide and shallow, not tall and round.
Most office fridge shelves give you only a few inches of clearance because people stack things. A tall container or a puffy insulated bag just wastes that vertical space. The sweet spot is something around two to three inches high—like a bento-style box or a soft-sided lunch bag that lies flat and collapses when empty.
Before you buy anything, glance at the actual fridge. You don’t need a tape measure; just see how much room there is between the shelf and the one above it. That tells you the max height you can work with. Then pick a box that fits that, not one you hope will fit.
Also, skip the round bowls. They waste corner space, tip over, and roll around. Rectangular or square containers pack better and slide onto a shelf without drama.
Future you—and everyone who shares that fridge—will be happier.
