Go with stitched edges for frequent washing.
Unstitched edges will fray faster. Every time.
A stitched edge — usually a hem, serged border, or binding — locks the fabric threads in place. Raw, unstitched edges are just cut fabric. Each wash and dry cycle pulls on those loose threads, and they start unraveling immediately. Machine drying accelerates it because of the tumbling and heat.
Even cheap stitching will outlast no stitching. If you’re planning to wash and dry these pads regularly, stitched is the only choice that makes sense.
Your washable cloths will last longer with that extra row of stitches.
