Hang your daily drivers on the pegboard — nothing else.

The most effective way to use a pegboard in a small home office is to hang only the things you grab multiple times a day.

Pegboards are great for visibility and quick access, but they become a cluttered mess fast if you try to store everything on them. In a small office, the wall space is prime real estate. Use it strategically.

What belongs on the pegboard: scissors, ruler, tape dispenser, staple remover, maybe a small clipboard or a pair of headphones. The stuff you use constantly and want off your desk.

What does not belong on the pegboard: stacks of paper, rolls of printer labels, extra pens in cups, sticky note pads, cables. Those need drawers, bins, or a shelf. If you hang too much, you lose the visual breathing room that makes a small office feel less chaotic.

Mount it securely (into studs or anchors), keep the load light, and resist the urge to fill every hole. You want negative space as much as you want storage.
