Heat and weight fix curled mousepads.
Yes, heat works best — just don’t overdo it.
The rubber base curls because it relaxed into that shape during storage. Simply putting weight back on it won’t always reverse that set, especially if it’s been rolled or folded. You need to warm the rubber to make it pliable again, then let it cool flat.
Use a hair dryer on low or medium heat. Aim at the curled edges, moving constantly so you don’t melt the rubber. After about 30 seconds, lay it flat and stack heavy books or a cutting board and weights on top. Leave it for a few hours or overnight. The rubber cools into the flat shape.
If the curl is stubborn, try the iron method: place a thin cloth over the mousepad and run a warm iron (no steam) over the curled area for 10-15 seconds, then immediately press flat. Works for neoprene and most rubber-backed pads.
Your mousepad isn’t ruined yet.
