Her Majesty" is Abbey Road's hidden track.
It’s “Her Majesty” — a 23-second fragment of a Paul McCartney song that got tacked onto the end after “The End.”
Here’s the story: McCartney recorded a full version, but the band decided to cut it from the medley. The engineer was told to throw it away, but apparently the tape had a rule about cutting off the leader (silence), so he spliced it onto the end of the reel. They liked the accidental effect and kept it. On the original vinyl, it wasn’t listed on the sleeve — just appeared after 14 seconds of silence.
On CD and streaming it’s track 17, but it still feels like a secret little wink. The actual last word of the album? “Her Majesty’s a pretty nice girl, but she doesn’t have a lot to say.”
Fun fact: it’s also the only Beatles song with no other band members playing on it.
