Hybrid pads win in sweaty conditions.

Yes. In high-temperature environments, a hybrid pad like Cordura fabric maintains a more consistent glide compared to a standard cloth pad that absorbs sweat.

The problem with standard cloth pads is that once your forearm or wrist gets clammy, the sweat soaks into the weave. That humid spot changes the friction—speed slows down, and your mouse starts feeling sluggish in one area while remaining fast elsewhere. It’s inconsistent, and inconsistency is the enemy in competitive FPS.

Hybrid pads (Cordura is the most common) are made from synthetic fibers that don’t absorb moisture. Sweat pools on the surface or beads up, but the glide stays the same. They’re also easier to wipe clean between matches. The trade-off is that Cordura often feels faster and a bit rougher than a plush cloth pad, so if you’re used to a slow, controlled cloth surface, it’ll take some adjustment.

But for pure consistency when things heat up—literally—hybrid is the better bet.

Your aim shouldn’t depend on how much you’re sweating.
