Hydrogen peroxide is a bad pool sanitizer.

No, don’t do it.

Hydrogen peroxide breaks down way too fast in sunlight and heat. You’d need to dump gallons of it in every day to keep any sanitizer level, and even then it doesn’t last. It also doesn’t handle algae or bacteria nearly as well as chlorine or even bromine.

Some people try to use it as a “shock” or combine it with other chemicals for a non-chlorine system, but as a primary sanitizer it’s a headache. You’ll test constantly, add constantly, and still end up with green water. There’s a reason nobody serious runs pools on peroxide.

Stick with chlorine. It works, it’s cheap, and you don’t have to think about it as much.
