Mesh pockets are the worst for trapping sand because the grains wedge into the weave. Turning the bag inside out lets gravity do the work — most of the sand falls right out. Then hit the pockets with a vacuum’s brush attachment to get the stubborn bits.

Don’t toss it in the washing machine unless the tag says it’s safe. Agitation can warp mesh or fray stitching. Compressed air (like a keyboard duster) works too if you have it.
