Isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth.
Yes, that’s the right approach—isopropyl alcohol and a clean microfiber cloth.
Glass mousepads often have a thin coating to reduce glare or improve glide. Soap and water can leave a film that creates streaks, and paper towels or rough cloths will scratch that coating over time. Isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher) evaporates completely, leaving no residue. Spray a little on the cloth (not directly on the pad), wipe gently, then buff dry with a second clean microfiber.
Skip Windex, vinegar, or anything with ammonia—those can eat the coating. And never use paper towels. The friction is too high, and the fibers can leave micro-scratches.
Your mouse will glide like new.
