It'll work, but you'll need to set it manually.
Yes. The kit will run at the default JEDEC speed (usually 2133 or 2400 MHz) without any input from you. If you want 3200 MHz, you still have to enable XMP/DOCP and adjust the frequency. The memory controller can handle 3200 just fine — it’s the rated speed of the CPU, not a hard cap. So buy the 3600 kit, pop it in, then go into BIOS, turn on XMP, and set the frequency to 3200. The kit’s tighter timings at 3600 might not translate exactly, but it’ll boot.
If you’re unlucky and the XMP training fails at 3200, you may need to loosen timings or bump voltage slightly. But 99% of the time it just works. The 3600 kit is usually cheaper per gig than the 3200 kit anyway, so it’s a no-lose move.
Just don’t expect it to automatically run at 3200 out of the box. That’s not how RAM works.
