Julia Jacklin's clean tone is mostly amp and a few simple pedals.
A good amp and a compressor.
Most of that jangle comes from a Fender-style amp — Twin Reverb or Deluxe Reverb — pushed just enough to break up. Then a compressor to even out the picking and add that chime. She’s used the Diamond Comp Jr. live.
She keeps it minimal: maybe a light overdrive (Blues Driver or a Klon clone) for a little grit, and reverb from the amp or a Strymon Flint. No fancy modulation or delay stacks.
Her secret is not overthinking it. Plug in, turn up, and let the guitar and amp do the work.
