Keep micro-habits off your goal list
Micro-habits and Q1 goals should live on different tracking systems. Trying to put both in one place turns your goal tracker into a messy to-do list and your habit tracker into a distraction.
Big goals like “ship the product” or “grow revenue by 20%” need weekly or monthly review, not daily check-ins. They require reflection, not ticks. Micro-habits like a two-minute meditation or drinking a glass of water need daily ticks. Those are different rhythms.
Your brain handles them differently too. Seeing “meditate 2 min” next to “finish Q1 financial model” creates weird pressure. Either you start half-assing the meditation because it feels too small next to the big goal, or you get bogged down checking off tiny boxes and lose sight of the real priority.
Use a separate streak tracker for micro-habits. A simple sheet of paper, a Habitica clone, or even the Apple Health app will do. For Q1 goals, use a weekly review in a notebook or a simple OKR board. Don’t mix them.
Future You doesn’t need to decide whether meditating is more important than closing the Q1 deal. Just do both, separately.
