Keep only what sparkles every year

Here’s the thing about small apartments: every square foot has to earn its keep. Seasonal decor is the worst offender because it sits unused 90% of the year. So before you even think about storage, edit hard. If you didn’t pull it out last year, you won’t miss it. Toss anything broken, faded, or that you only keep because your aunt gave it to you. Be brutal.

For what remains, go vertical. Under-bed storage bins are your best friend for flat items like tablecloths, wreaths, or string lights. For bulky stuff like artificial trees, vacuum-seal bags can shrink them dramatically. Use over-door hooks for wreaths and garlands, and consider a slim rolling cart (the kind from IKEA) tucked into a closet corner for smaller items. Label everything clearly so you don’t have to dig through three bins to find the menorah.
