Keith Richards’ 'Crosseyed Heart' – Why He Finally Made Another Solo Album After 23 Years

For more than two decades, Keith Richards didn’t feel the need to make a solo album. He’d put out two in the early ’90s (Talk Is Cheap and Main Offender), but those were born from the Stones’ hiatus and his own need to prove he could write outside the Jagger-Richards dynamic. By 2015, the Stones were back on the road, and Richards was sitting on a pile of songs he’d been stockpiling in country houses and hotel rooms. He booked time with drummer Steve Jordan at a studio in Connecticut, and the result
