Late morning is your best bet for the Cave of the Winds rainbow.
Yes, and it’s usually around 11 AM to 1 PM, depending on the season. In summer, aim closer to 11. In fall or spring, push toward noon.
The walkway faces north-ish, so the sun needs to be high enough in the south to hit the mist from Bridal Veil Falls at the right angle. Early morning is too low and behind you; afternoon shifts the light away. Midday is the sweet spot.
Show up early anyway — the crowds are thinner, and if you catch the rainbow, you’ll have a clear view. Plus, you’ll be dry-ish for a few minutes before the mist soaks you.
