Leather and rain don't mix.
They don’t. Coach bags are gorgeous, but they’re not built for weather.
If you’re caught in heavy rain or snow, expect staining, water spots, and—if it’s suede—a ruined finish. Calfskin can get bubbles or warping. Salt from snow will leave white marks that are tough to remove. The hardware can also tarnish if it stays wet.
Mitigation: pretreat with a quality leather waterproofing spray (Apple Garde is the gold standard). Use it before going out. Carry a small umbrella or tuck the bag under your coat. If you’re in a downpour, switch to a nylon crossbody. That’s not snobby—it’s practical.
If it does get soaked, blot with a soft cloth. Let it air dry away from heat. Condition it after it dries. But honestly? Don’t test it. Your bag will thank you.
