Lettuce wraps are the answer.
Lettuce wraps are the answer—they’re cheap, flexible, and don’t taste like cardboard. You don’t need bread or wraps to pack a decent low-carb lunch, you just need to stop trying to make a sandwich.
Use romaine or butter lettuce as the shell. Fill it with any deli meat, cheese, egg salad, or chicken. It holds together fine for a few hours if you don’t overstuff it. If you’re worried about sogginess, store the filling separate and assemble at lunch.
Want something sturdier than lettuce? Use a slice of provolone or ham as the wrapper. Roll up turkey and cheese with mustard, pack a few pickles on the side, and you’ve got a lunch that doesn’t fall apart and doesn’t miss the bread.
Or skip the wrapper entirely. A bowl of greens topped with whatever you’d normally put in a wrap—chicken, olives, feta, ranch—is the same thing, minus the carb bloat. That’s the real trick: most lunches don’t need a vehicle.
Future You will be fine with a fork.
